From the Presidency Coordinator

Dear Delegates,

The world does not change when everyone agrees, nor does it change when everyone simply argues louder. It changes when people and countries with different interests, priorities and perspectives choose to sit at the same table and refuse to leave without finding a way forward.

In a world changing faster than ever, solutions to our biggest challenges will come from those who can think critically and creatively. Those who can understand, question, debate, compromise and conclude.

It is with immense pride that we welcome you to the first-ever Model G20 hosted by The School of Raya. It is my honour to serve as the Presidency Coordinator for this conference.

When we began planning, we had one goal: to create a platform where young delegates would not simply debate global issues, but take on the harder task of reaching consensus. Across eight Working Groups addressing challenges from human rights to corruption, we want delegates to speak, listen, negotiate and ultimately find solutions.

Over six years ago, I walked into my first conference as the Delegate of Mexico in UNEP, convinced that debate wasn't for me. Somewhere between raising my placard, defending a position that wasn't my own and negotiating with a room full of strangers, that changed. One conference led to another, and what began as hesitation became something I kept returning to.

My journey began with MUNs. They taught me the power of debate, diplomacy and representing perspectives beyond my own. The G20 format takes something I have come to value deeply from these experiences: the need to turn discussion into action. Different countries will enter the room with different priorities, but the challenge is to leave having found common ground.

And that is the mission for this conference.

Disagree. Question. Challenge. Defend. Form alliances. Raise your placard. Change your mind when someone gives you a reason to. But above all, build something, a compromise, a resolution, a solution that did not exist when you entered the room.

Our Secretariat has spent months building this conference from scratch. We have created the platform and the stage.

The world outside will not hand our generation easy problems. Perhaps the best place to start is by learning how to navigate them together.

Welcome to the first-ever Model G20 at The School of Raya.

The stage is now yours.

From the Deputy Coordinators

Dear Delegates,

The world does not need more people who can speak.
It needs more people who know when, why, and how to listen. That is where diplomacy begins.

It is our immense pleasure to welcome you to the very first edition of The School of Raya's Model G20 Conference. After months of planning, debating, and logistical work, a conference has finally come to fruition.

However, a conference is only as meaningful as the conversations it creates. This Model G20 is an exercise in pushing the limits of traditional solutions, stress-testing and advocating for bold, clear ideas. You are not entering a room where agreement is expected. You are entering one where agreement must be built.

Across 8 committees, we circle back to the overarching theme for the conference. Through exploring “Diplomacy in a Dynamic World”, we hope to bridge the gap between a rapidly changing world and institutions that struggle to keep up. The G20 sits at the crossroads of global challenges, providing a forum for countries with vastly different cultures, economies and visions to engage in mature dialogue.

The School Of Raya's Model G20 is open to all. Regardless of your past experience, age, or background, we encourage all to register and join us. The issues that we will explore are not simply theory — they shape the world we will step into. And that alone makes them worth engaging with.

Backed by a diligent student secretariat, hardworking executive boards, and most importantly, an eager student community, this conference is bound to be the first of many. We're excited to see you there.

Speak. Listen. Negotiate.

Warm regards,

Deetya Aradhya · Dakshil Mathuria · Samir Wajid · Sarah Shaikh
